The Health Arts College has developed an exciting alliance with Charles Sturt University (CSU) in New South Wales, Australia, which allows The Health Arts College students and graduates to enrol into the Bachelor of Health Science Degree (Complementary Medicine). The CSU Degree programme is a distance learning course which has two intakes a year and can be completed in 2 years. CSU offers the further opportunity for ongoing study to obtain a Master’s Degree, or a PH.D. in Complementary Medicine. For more information go to http://www.csu.edu.au/courses/undergraduate/complementary_medicine/application_det.html
Charles Stuart University is Australia’s leading distance learning University, being responsible for the on-line education of over 28,000 students. CSU was awarded a "University of the Year" award in Australia, for its nationally recognised ability to reflect the needs of today’s society, and responsiveness to the need for life-long learning in a changing world
Currently, if you are studying for a 2 year Diploma with us you will need to gain 64 credit points, equivalent to 8 subjects at CSU, which with part time study of 2 subjects per semester will take you 2 years or full time study of 4 subjects per semester will take you 1 year. So within 3 years you could achieve a fully accredited degree – which includes great subjects like patho-physiology, pharmacology, legal and ethical issues for complementary medicine, evidence-based practice in complementary medicine, infectious microbiology and immunology, nutrition, metabolism and human disease, neuroscience of health practice, understanding health communities, introduction to leisure and health and much more.....
From 2011, the amount of additional work required to gain your degree will increase from 8 subjects to 12, potentially adding an additional 6-12 months to your study time; however, CSU are moving from running 2 semesters a year to 3 trimesters, increasing the number of subjects you can fit into a year if you so wish. They are also in the process of developing Minors within the Complementary Medicine Major such as Aged Care, Leisure and Health, Fitness etc., which in effect will give you a double, triple or even quadruple qualification.
So, after only 3-4 years, not only will you end up with a Degree, you will also have your Certificate IV, Diploma and/or Advanced Diploma that you have gained here at THA College, as a completely separate qualification. From there if you choose you can even go on to study a Masters and do a thesis, and/or go onto a PHD if you wish.
Whilst studying with Charles Sturt University you may also apply for Fee Help if you are eligible, which wouldn’t have to be paid back until you earn over $43,000 gross per year.
International students with The Health Arts College can benefit from this great opportunity too; either by relocating after finishing your course with us and studying on campus in NSW, or, by upgrading your qualifications with online study once you leave Australia.
Please contact us for more information. (Students must have completed their THA College Diploma or Advanced Diploma course before being issued with a CSU degree) |
